China Unicom's Large-scale Bidding for 5G Network Equipment Commences Opening

According to the official website of China Unicom, the results of the centralized procurement of 5G network equipment for the year 2023 have been announced. Huawei, ZTE, Ericsson, Shanghai Nokia Bell, and Datang were the five winning bidders.
 
Based on the bidding results, there were two bidding packages, with a total winning amount of approximately 30 billion yuan. Huawei had the highest bidding price. China Unicom did not disclose the specific share of each winning bidder, but for the bidding package of 660,000 stations, it was divided among Huawei, ZTE, Ericsson, and Shanghai Nokia Bell, with Huawei ranking first and ZTE ranking second.
 
According to the previous procurement announcement released by China Unicom, the main contents of the 5G network equipment procurement include a total of 690,000 stations (sets) for new construction, renovation, upgrade, and expansion of the 5G network, as well as related auxiliary materials and services. The procurement budget is 40.239 billion yuan (excluding taxes). The project is divided into two bidding packages: Package 1 with 660,000 stations and Package 2 with 30,000 stations.
