China Telecom's Revenue Increases by 10.4% H1of 2022

China Telecom released its operating results for the first half of 2022 on A-shares. During the reporting period, China Telecom's operating income was 240.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.4%, of which service revenue was 221.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.8%. The net profit was 18.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%. Net profit after deduction was RMB 18.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12.1%.
Among them, the revenue of mobile communication services reached RMB 99 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.0%. Mobile users reached 384 million, a net increase of 11.79 million, and the user share increased steadily. The number of 5G package users reached 232 million, with a penetration rate of 60.3%, continuing to maintain an industry-leading level. The ARPU of mobile users reached RMB 46.0. Revenue from fixed line and smart home services reached RMB 59.9 billion, an increase of 4.4% year-on-year. Revenue from industrial digitalization reached RMB 58.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19.0% on a comparable basis.
The company cooperated with China Unicom to continuously deepen network co-construction and sharing. In the first half of the year, the two parties jointly built and shared 180,000 5G base stations. The number of 5G base stations in use reached 870,000, and 210,000 shared 4G base stations were added. With the accelerated promotion of "4G One Network", the two parties have saved a total investment of RMB 240 billion.
