Beijing has built 90,000 5G base stations

On May 17th, the 2023 World Telecommunication and Information Society Day Conference was held in Beijing, where Su Shaolin, the director of the Beijing Communications Administration, announced that as of the end of April this year, Beijing had built 313,000 communication base stations, including 90,000 5G base stations, accounting for 28.7% of the total number of base stations. The number of 5G base stations per 10,000 people is the highest in the country.
In terms of users, the number of mobile users has reached 39.535 million, of which 15.853 million are 5G users, accounting for nearly 40% of the total. The number of 5G mobile terminal connections is 22.141 million, accounting for more than 60% of the total. The number of fixed internet broadband access users has reached 10.332 million, of which the number of gigabit users has accumulated to 1.751 million, accounting for 17% of the total. The number of IoT terminal users is 140 million, and the number of IPTV users is 4.205 million.
It is worth mentioning that the industrial Internet has connected a total of 98 secondary nodes to the national top node (Beijing), accounting for 33.9% of the total in the country, covering nine provinces in the north. It is the first among the top five national nodes, with a cumulative registration of over 63.68 billion identifications and a cumulative identification resolution of over 74.86 billion times.
